Hey you, yes you!
I need some help here people where did you guys mount your tranny dipsticks. I know most of you guys more than likely mounted them on the firewall bu I bought a lokar unit to match the rest of my stuff and I smoothed out the fire wall and I just cannot bring myself to drill holes in the fresh shave job. Any help or pics or maybe some sweet ideas you have had in your head would be great. Thanks Luke.

Drill holes in your firewall (Did I just say that). I did it on a Chevelle I had with a Lokar dipstick. Once you drill them you will forget about it. If not they are easy to weld up.

Re: Hey you, yes you!
My '67 had the V-8 in the I-6 slot and was therefore pushed back against the firewall. None of the aftermarket fill tubes would clear. I had to go back to stock (short and close into the block) which I now prefer.

Re: Hey you, yes you!
You could make some kind of bracket to mount it to your back header bolt like some of their engine dip sticks.

Re: Hey you, yes you!
Locar has them for both mounting firewall and the block .call them if you have the firewall mount i am sure they will exchange it . they are good to deal with . if you have a catalog it should show both.

No pics but I will get you one next time I go over to the shop. I mounted mine down low, right above the brace.
