Re: new engine in K5
Congrats on the motor. I'm doing the same thing. Putting in a 305 while the 350 gets built. Mario

Re: new engine in K5
Help me remember, was this a basic rebuild or did you hop it up some? Congrats on getting it in and running.
Sure makes it easy to do with the front clip off.

Yeah, progress this weekend if you're not sleeping. Swing by if you get a chance.

Re: new engine in K5
Hoped up a little Yukon. I had the block cleaned and honed and the crank had to be turned 10/20. I went with the Ram Jet cam that racinjason put me on. I cleaned and reused the internals. New aluminum intake and a Holly Truck Avenger 670cfm carb. Headers. 3 inch pipes and 40 series Flowmasters. I stabbed the old HEI with new wires.
I am planning on pulling the the dizy this weekend and replacing the gear with the softer one that is used with the vortecs. I am hopping that will finish the tune for me. Here is the other thread. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=247205 Oh yeah. removing the front clip is a must.
