lift springs
I was wondering if anyone on the board has used the tuff country 6" spring kit? I know that this topic is brought up all the time, but I'd like to do a little research on the springs befor I buy. BTW, I have a double wall top if it makes a difference. I pladn to drive it on the road most of the time. Don't get me wrong, I'm not afraid to use it off road. Thanks, Mario.

Can't recall which company it was but one of the major lift spring manufacturers uses recycled metal for their springs and after a relatively short time they begin to sag.
Check the 4x4 tech section, there's always spring and lift questions and answer in there. What size tires are you going to run with the lift? |

I've got Tuff Country 6" HD springs on my K20. I think the heavy duty extra leaf made the springs more in the neighborhood of 7". The springs don't seem to ride any different with the bbc compared to the prior 4" EZ ride springs when I had the sbc.
Both sets can get a bit bouncy on certain sections of a road that I drive, but generally I think they ride very well. My K5 has Skyjacker 4" springs and the two vehicles ride surprisingly similar even though one has a 4" lift springs and the other has the 6-7" springs.

I'm probably out until late February. All of my parts should arrive in another week or two, then need to schedule a wrench-a-thon weekend with my guys at the garage.

Good idea, Actually I think I am going to start calling your blazer the "B.M." Blazer Invasion would be pretty cool!
Anyway, I'm about to tear down and do some work as well. Late Feb would probably be better for me...not cause I am doing a lot...just cause I'm slow!

I have the Tuff Counrty EZ ride springs (6"). They have about 20,000 on them now and they are a bit more tame then before. But I will warn you if you hit a bump in the road going at a good rate you will definetly get the front end up. I would have opted for a little less bouncy ride but I didn't do the research four years ago. I wanted to level the truck out and put the ORD add a leafs under them, so with the hard top on it sits right. I keep the soft top on most of the time and it doesn't ride high.

I've heard that the Skyjacker ez ride are really good. Then again, it was a salesman who told me. Anyone have first -hand knowledge?

All of that being said, my full set of Alcans was about $950 shipped. Pretty dang close to the price of Skyjackers from 4WP and custom made based on how you drive and what you drive to boot! Yeah AJ, Whore Wheel Parts did tell me that. So you think Tough Country is alright? I mean I might be putting the carriage in front of the horse, thinking about a lift and it's not even running yet; but a little more altitude never hurt anybody.

My suggestion: get the engine swap done. Then start planning out what you want the stance to look like.

I'd like to raise my blazer 2" to 3" just to get a little more space above my 33's. What's the least expensive way to do it? I've never attempted and suspension work before. I'd go higher but the garage is too small
