ive looked and havent found one yet, lets see some pics of chopped trucks. heres one i had sold recently. chopped 7.5" in front and 5.5 out of the back.

Sorry it doesn't do anything for me. In my opinion it is not nearly low enough for such an extreme chop. It makes the lines of the front hood look strange. The front really looks long.

My 2 cents...............

BTY what is the reason for the fenders being cut at the bottom?

ok, so heres the whole scoop on it. it started out as a 54 1.5 ton. i mounted it onto a 79 malibu frame. no motor or anything in it. its just sitting on the frame. sorry i didnt clear that up. heres a pic of what i was going for with it. i wanted it to sit no higher than 4" off the ground. also, i just wanted to seee pics of other chopped trucks. not for mine to get picked at.

So just let me see if I understand this.

Are the front fenders from the 1.5 ton too? If so are they larger than 1/2 - 3/4 ton fenders?

That really helps, because the front end did look different, not bad, just different!

yes, the whole truck was 1.5 ton. the wheel openings are a lot bigger. i was planning on making my own set of wheel openings anyways. i wasnt going to run running boards so the bottom of the cab was going to be even with the bottom of the fenders. on these trucks the hoods are also pancaked from the factory. you cannot run these hoods on the 1/2 to 3/4 ton trucks.

I just don't see why people feel the need to pick other peoples projects apart. I know how hard it is to build cars and I respect anyone who builds their own rides. If you don't like something why comment just move on to the next page.

By the way I kind of dig the concept drawing also.

i started this thread to see others projects. obviously no one here has the balls to chop their trucks. lets just pick on the one guy that posted his pics. so lets see them. anyone got anything chopped more than the standard 3" on these. personally if your gonna chop it, dont hold back and just go for it.

i like it. you can't pick apart the stance on a vehicle that isn't finished yet, (and i don't mean the "rat rod" version of not finished) he doesn't even have a bed on it or motor in it yet. too bad you sold it, the concept drawing looked freakin killer!

man that looks *****en. you got the windshield cut yet? i was just meaning that everyone has the guts to criticize my works when all they have are stockers. whats the point in having the same truck as everyone else just to have a different color. how about some diversity.

i dont remember how much he took out of the top or hood sumreasion i am think 7 on the front of the top , i may be wrong on that lol
yes he leaned the post and remolded the top center ridge , he added the hood and it didnt look rite so he went to cuttin it up too
shaved and smoothed the firewall , dash door handles ummmm,,,,,,, well he modded just about everything sumhow on it , its far from finshed

I was thinking of taking about 2'' inthe front of the hood to nothing in the rear.I need to know what kind of problems he had with it and if he had to do any thing to the fire wall in order for it to work??????

Yeah i guess someone has to have the ugly truck of the bunch. Not all of these trucks look good chopped unless you follow through and do a whole bunch of mods. it just looks out of place.

now are you saying my truck is ugly? or are you saying that these trucks are perfect from factory? if you are building a custom truck, then chop, section, channel it or what ever you need to do in order to make it appeal to you. once again i wanted to start this thread to see chopped trucks. not get in a piss and moan arguement with everyone. is this a site for stockers? or is this a site about classic trucks. if people never change things on a truck (or car) then whats the fun in going to a car show? do you go to car shows to look at 40 of the same cars with different paint and the same SBC in them all? or are going to get ideas of what you can do (or not do) to improve your ride? there seems to be more guys interested in chopping trucks in the 60-66 forum, and those arent an easy one to chop. thats cool, if everyone on here thinks these trucks chopped are gay or ugly or whatever. im a customizer by trade and thats what im going to do.

Chopped or not chopped, we're all here to build what we invision of our own trucks. Many only dream of doing such projects, but never EVEN get the chance to do so. Take pride on what you build, and take pride on respecting others builds. Your building something that makes you happy and thats what counts!!
