guy up the hollow above me was going to salvage yard to sell some scrap and my son spyed a 69 chevy truck grille and asked him what he was doing ?
the guy told my son that he was gonna chop the grille up and sell it for scrap ! he told my son he could get $3 or $4 buck's out of it !!
my son told him that his dad would pay $5 buck's cash RIGHT NOW FOR IT !
he said sure !! my son came home and got the $5 buck's and here it is !!

it has the park light's the wire's the little black inner grille (SLIGHTLY CRACKED) it has the headlight rings too !!
to bad I don't have a 69 truck , ohh well it will look good on the garage wall and who know's I may find a 69 stepside one day and recreate my dad's old pickup !!

yea I know about the for sale stuff , I have an ebay account and sell stuff on there all the time , if I wanted to let this grille go I would put it on ebay , but I think I'll just hang on to it ,,,,,

the insert is tells me it's a '70. see the vertical lines in the grille?

actually, that makes it that much more special. the is no repops for the '70 inserts, just the '69.

I'm a little fuzzy on the 69 70's , the reason I said it was a 69 is cause of the guide 69 dates on the park light's , but of course it could be that it is a 70 with 69 park light's , you know I still think it is worth my time and effort and the $5 buck's

I have been getting sentimental lately and this made 10 year's since my dad died , it may be time to recreat his 69 stepside he bought new , I have showed this pic several time's , I never get tired of it ,
I can remember being able to stand up in the pass side floor and hold on to the dash pad in this old truck , it was a six cylinder 3 0n the tree !!

I know the insert alone is worth a bit of moolah.

no new pic in a while. she's sitting in the garage preparing for a front disc brake/lowered spindle set up.

thanks for the compliment, BUT my old beater doesn't even hold a candle to your beautiful little black swb!!

now I would enjoy new pics of the Camaro, when the snow is off the ground of course!!!

by the way, what was the details on your dad's step?? any color pics?

I have a pic of my dad and I in his old '66 swb that means a lot to me as well.

that is the only pic I have of dad's truck ,
it was the dark green color 250 six cylinder 3 speed on the tree spare tire on the fender , he sold it in 1980 for $200 dollar's he paid $1650 for it new in 1970 it was left over and they wanted it sold !! the interior had no option's no radio , and for anyone with stock truck's that sqeaky clutch pedal spring came with the truck's when they were new (LOL)

sounds like your pop had a bare bones rig, but I like those just as much as the fully optioned Cheyennes! they have character too!

yep, the squeaky clutch spring was not an option in our rigs, they're mandatory equipment!!!

Great score, but I'd be more proud of the fact that your son has an interest in these old trucks. Most kids nowadays either don't know about the older vehicles or just don't care.

hay im super sorry about that, dont know whats wrong with him.

im 16 and my brother is 10 we spend more time in the garage than anywhere else and love it, that is where some of our best memories are from

my 10 year old brother knows more about cars then most people 4 times his age

Great deal, I have my Dad's 69 and drive it everyday, Nov. 4th made one year since I lost him. Get you a truck like your Dad's and fix it just like his and use that grille your son found....Call it Tribute Truck.....George
