72 cheyenne question

I have my truck posted on this site and craigslist cincinnati for sale. Is $4000
a good asking price for this truck? It has many options , 402 BB/400 turbo
Cold Fact AC. Tilt wheel, tach, rear sliding window, cargo light, cruise control,
Power steering and brakes, cheyenne super package C/20 longbed.Very solid , no bondo never, rust in a few places. Mechanically sound .I have invested in some replacement parts inside the cab and uhder the hood.

Re: 72 cheyenne question

franko72...in my opinion this is a very good price. The only draw back to some may be it's a C20 verses a C10...but for me that would not make that much difference. Maybe this spring things will be better in respect to selling your truck.

Re: 72 cheyenne question

That's cheap for an Ohio truck in that condition!!! Even out here on the West coast that's a great price for what you've got. The trouble is that people aren't buying right now and are holding onto their change.

Re: 72 cheyenne question

I think your asking price is very reasonable.

At that price I would bet that once Spring starts to come around you will sell it no problem. I say that because around here 2wd trucks don't sell to well in the winter, but in the warmer months people buy them.

Re: 72 cheyenne question

frank, I know for up here in Columbus, that would be underpriced, I see total junk jalopies SELL for not much less here.
However, as stated, that truck is a 3/4 ton which most people don't want, and some of the things added to it are not what they'd want, like the aftermarket clearance lights, air horns, and spot light... and they all leave holes in the sheet metal.
Plus, as mentioned, the economy has taken a dive in the last few months, and there are more people selling there cool rigs instead of buying them.
If you are just getting out of the truck, and not just trying to come up with money to cover another bill... as in this is not an emergency sell... then stick with your price, and stick it out. You'll get your money.

Re: 72 cheyenne question

I agree with longhorn man about some of the accessories on the truck. Air horns and spot lamps- both probably straight out of GM acc. book but they are going to limit the people that look at the truck. IMO (and we all know what those are worth) I would pass over this truck because of the lights- both spot and cab and the horns. The fact that it has dealer cruise, tach and wood floor are definite pluses for the truck 1/2 or 3/4 ton. The fact that the engine is correct as in from photos (97/99% ) is a definite plus. This is the first 72 to have a bracket i place to hold the upper rad hose out of the way and it has the heat riser tube and I assume the shield as well. If I were selling the truck I think I would find some someone to remove hors and spot lights, leave roof lights and fix the holes match paint and increase price another 1000 dollars or more. I think it would sell better that way. Again my opinion so please don't flame me for it.
