67 granny tranny shifter boot
I got a 67 c20 and i need a shifter boot. so far I ordered 3 different times and every time I got the wrong one. They always sent me one that was 8 inches wide and mine is only 6 inches wide . Is it only the 67 that has a 6 inch wide?.Does anybody know where I can get one?

Re: 67 granny tranny shifter boot
Depends on whether it's a six or an eight. Eights are curved on the front, sixes are flat. I believe there is also a bigger sized boot, though I've never seen one. My '67 took the curved one (it's got a 350 with the sm465)

I have an extra high hump cover out out of a 70 GMC so I went out and measured the boot. The metal ring measures 7" x 7" and it appears that the boot is 6" x 6" so I wonder if the GMC's were smaller..... Just a guess, I really don't know. It is also square, no rounded areas. LockDoc

Re: 67 granny tranny shifter boot
My V-6/NP435 combo uses the flat boot. NP435 shifter sits further back on the transmission than the Muncies do. The boot is roughly 6" X 6".

Hello everyone. I was gone for a few years but I am back. I have to finish my truck. I still need a shifter boot and a seat cover. It has to be 6 inches wide by 6 inches high with a bend in the middle. It is for a four speed transmission with a 327 and is out of a 67 c20. I saw on quite a few sites that they sell 68 to 72 but there is no listing for 67. Even a used one would do since I sent my used one to a supplier so that he could match it and I didn't get it back . Thanks for now.

Re: 67 granny tranny shifter boot
I'm pretty sure the 67 shared the boot with 64-66

Or you could make your own out of leather, like the old MGs had. Probably last longer than the rubber in the cheap import repops now on the market.

I don't know if the transmission is shorter because if you look at the picture the shifter hole is half on the flat part and half on the rise of the hump.
