??? rear end question ????
is there a difference in width of a 67 to 72 rearend? any help would be great!

Somewhere in the middle of the 70 model year GM went to a rearend that was 1.5" wider. So yes there is a difference. 69 and earlier are narrower than 71 and later. The only way to tell on a 70 is to measure.

and in 71 they went to a 5 lug from a 6 lug.
But that is obviouse though.

I think the "narrow" axle is 56 inches backing plate to backing plate. So the wide one would be 57.5 inches.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. |
