Question Gas tank relocation

My friends, I have a question. I have a 69 Chevy pickup and took out the gas tank to put either in the bed or under the bed. My question is obviously now there's a hole where the filler neck use to be, a friend of mine said he thought he read an article where a vendor which he couldn't remember who, sells a patch panel or piece of metal to put where there's now a hole. Is there such an animal or should I just go ahead and try to fabricate one. Even though there's a slight curvature, I might be able to make one. I would appreciate some insight.
