Arrow SS Pickup

This was one that I had my eye on when I was looking for my first truck, it made the short list but the paint scheme was not to my taste so it kept getting bumped down the list...anyway seems it's still for sale.

Your right 1LoC10 , the price probably had more to do with it.

An SS with no gauges?Long bed?Stripes on hood,ok.Not on tailgate. It ain`t no deck lid.I think a white panel on the flat area with thin stripe around it would be ok.$19,000 for a hole in the dash?Dreanmin`big in WY.Alot of money for too many emblems. No need for mirrors?

Re: SS Pickup

Yeah! real happy with my final choice, and thanks for the compliments, seems they're putting a lot of stock in that paint scheme and whats under the hood, but that trucks been up since Sept 07 and thats when I found it could have been waiting for a buyer for even longer.

Re: SS Pickup

I`m calm now.Shew! That`s a simpler way to say it.It`s all about the SS theme paint job, which the seller may just like more than others.
Your factory-trimmed truck is much classier.

Re: SS Pickup

In my opinion: The stripes could be 3"s narrower and not on the tailgate. It would look better with just the "SS" emblems only instead of the emblem display he has on it. In the interior he should have a tach dash with woodgrain accents throughout, bucket seats and console and hurst 4-speed.

Shane & Ole Blue,
Gee guys, thats harsh. What happened to the "dare to be differant" thing? I was originaly going to go the '71 "SS 396" route with my truck but it has since been rerouted to the "Yenko 427 ST" project. Remind me not to post pics when it is done.

Re: SS Pickup

Not a bad looking truck...not worth $20K.

How long is a 700R4 gonna live behind a LS7 (if in fact that's what it is). Tranny would have to be quite a bit more than stock to survive.

Even with a 700r4, I have to question how well it cruises at highway speeds with 4.56 gears........but oh boy, what 1st gear must feel like with the 700's lower first gear and that rear gear set.

I wouldn't kick it outta the garage... You can buy a lot of cool other stuff for $20K, though.

Re: SS Pickup

700R4 is a time bomb behind that much power. If you drive it nice it would probably last if it was built very very well. If you drive it crazy I would say a couple hundred miles at best. I like the look of the truck though. To each his own.

Sorry, just too fake for me. There were no SS trucks from 67-72 (at least not that I know of), so why do that to a perfectly good truck? I don't have any problems with the Yenko clone because they were actual cars, as long as it's presented as a clone and not as the real deal.

But that's just me.

Re: SS Pickup

I always felt if Chevy made this truck available with the SS option, as far as the striping goes, they should have adapted Yenko style striping. Or even Camaro RS style striping of the same vintage.

That is my plan. I am going to put a '68 front clip on my truck. Put all the '68 white Yenko stripes and badging on it with something close to a F*@d Grabber Blue color. Interior will have the tach dash with all the woodgrain accents and Cheyenne interior with bucketseats and console. "Yenko ST" stitched in the seat. I have a 427, M22 and all the goodies to build a bullet proof 12 bolt for it. I want it to look like it was done at the factory but of course it will be a one off because Chevrolet never made one. I will also run the truck rallies with redline tires to set it off.

Re: SS Pickup

Man I'm glade I changed my paint idea on my truck. People would have bashed my truck left and right on here. I was going to have white with blue Chevelle SS stripes. I changed my idea because I'm going with a 3.42:1 gear instead of my 3.73:1 and thought that Racing stripes would look funny on a truck that isn't quick.

I agree with that. The 87 GMC I got a couple of weeks ago has a 200 HP 283 in it. It was drove like Richard Petty and the trans is shot to hell...to the fact they pulled it and its gone. Should have had a 350 turbo in it.

I feel the same way about the gauges. If your going to put that much time and money into something...do it right. Tailgate stripes?? Not worth 19,000.00

A black long bed with stripes. Dime a dozen.

Now, if it was a red short bed with huge billet wheels & bagged. THAT, would be different. Dont see one of those everyday...
