Yes I did, you have to stich it down the middle of the dash to get it to lay down.. But it works good.

Thanks,
Trav

Re: Tweed Interior?

I have my seat, headliner, doors and back valance in the cab done in a grey tweed on my 84 GMC. The headliner also includes an overhead console that houses the radar detector. I tied 8" speakers into the door base/kick panels and 6" speakers and small tweets on the top of the door panels (where the factory catch pockets used to be)

Here is the tweed interior in my truck. Complete with the neon light in the overhead and the console. The dash is covered on the bottom with tweed also.

I am generally not a fan of tweed interior, but this was tastefully done. Very Nice.

Re: Tweed Interior?

I'm going with black leather and ostrich in mine. Heres a pic of my dash. I'm in the process of ditching the bench seat and installing 88 chevy buckets with a 91 suburban center console.

My friend's uncle is the one who did the seat, he restores cars for a living. My friend did the tweed on the door panels. Unfortunately my friend is having to sell it. I would love to see some pics of the copper orange and white truck too.

that looks really sweet. how did you secure it tight to the dash? what's ostrich run a yard?

i was thinking about glassing my very sun damaged dash but i think it'll be too much work and come out shoddy. i'm not exactly a craftsman.

tvblazer78: well executed, so crisp and fresh.

Re: Tweed Interior?

Good evening everyone, newbee to the board however a long-time owner/fan of these amazing trucks. What a versitile platform for such a broad range of imaginations. I have had many mid-80's GMC's (not intentionally, but they have never had the "Chevrolet" code in their VIN although they had the badges). My current project will be around for a VERY long time no matter how high the cost of gas. I have a 1986 C2500 Crew Cab. It is originally a texas truck which means this beauty has NO rust at all. I'm in heaven. I have some pretty well laid plans for a complete interior overhaul including, but not limited to the headliner, door panels, carpet, dash, heat and sound barrier, all new rubber in, on and around doors and windows, window tint ect... I have had many ideas but to see them realized and improved upon by others just makes even happier. I have a few questions though on proper names for the various materials that i seen used. Most of my ignorance has to do with carpeting and their different names. I am interested in the shorter, more uniform look such as that in Piecesparts' truck or tvblazer's new brown carpeting. What is that called??
