Its rumored that some refurbed ones are still bad. Apparently the holes get oval shaped and there's no cure.
My truck came with aftermarket spares and they seem fine using original springs. I put the hinges on right after buying the truck about 2 years ago. Another thing I've read is don't get paint in the rivets/bolts or the hinges may fold--bad. My theory is wrap some string around the area and remove it after painting. |

I have an original pair, tight and they were blasted & powdercoated semi-gloss black. $85 shipped. Can get pics next week if your interested.

you can buy nice powdercoated ones on ebay , i have seen them sell as cheep as $60
