1970 correct wheels / tires?
Hi all. Looking at a 70 CST / 10, 2 WD, currently has wrong wheels with looks like 4WD type wheel covers.
So, as I like the stock look, what would be the correct / best Rally Wheel size & tire. I like the look of the BFG Radial TA's. Thanks.

Re: 1970 correct wheels / tires?
rally wheels were never available as an option on these trucks/neither were radial tires optional
so if you're wanting "correct" it's plain steel wheels with bias ply tires and dog dish hubcaps

Re: 1970 correct wheels / tires?
That is almost correct.
If it has the option for full hub caps, they would look just like those, but with a blue bow tie in the center. The yellow bow tie is for 73 - 76 or so. The comment on no rallys is 100% correct... not till 73. |

Re: 1970 correct wheels / tires?
I don't understand the trend to make pickup trucks look like cars with full wheel covers. Part of the uniqueness of pickups where the small dog dish hubcaps. Only a few base model cars had them, but no car ever had painted dog dish hubcaps. It was a sad day in 1979 when new GM pickups dropped the painted version of the dog dish hubcap on standard models, a tradition that was around since the early 50's. Here is a 1970 with correct wheels and the chromed version of the dog dish hubcap.
