Possibly selling a 68 Suburban
Ok, Ok, Ok... I know what you're thinking....I just got this thing and already I am looking to unload it...
Well I am actually looking at my options as it were...... I have an opportunity to buy a 2wd Blazer and really haven't gotten over my last one I had and sold. I haven't gotten too deep into the 'Burb project so....... I *might* sell it to help fund the Blazer project. I know the inner voice is telling me to keep both, but that just isn't reality for me. So- what would YOU do?

Re: Possibly selling a 68 Suburban
Id take the burb, but you asked what would "I" do. Personally blazers don't do anything for me. Yeah there are some real nice ones out there, its just that I would rather have a pick up, burb or panel when it comes to these trucks.
For top down fun I would pick an older car convertible over a blazer hands down. Unless, I got a smokin deal on a two wheel drive blazer...then I would give it a go...probably. |

Re: Possibly selling a 68 Suburban
My problem is that I like them both. I had a 2wd 72 Blazer before and it was a BLAST!! The top was a bit of a PITA to get on and off and I got caught out in the rain a few times, but I LOVED that truck!!!
I had an opportunity a few years back to buy it back and didn't and I have been kicking myself in the head ever since. I have only sold a few things that I wish I had back and the 2wd Blazer was one of those. At this point I am still undecided.... but I know where my heart lies..

Joe... in comparison to 2 wheel drive blazers... burbs are a dime a dozen.
I'd sell if the blazer is pretty solid, but you've had one.. you know what to look for. |

Re: Possibly selling a 68 Suburban
I have a 2wd Blazer and I want a 67-8 burb so tell me more about the Burb!! Honestly, if you want a 2wd Blazer and can't keep both, you know what you need to do. I like all trucks, burbs, blazer and currently own a couple of each, none are done or what I would call nice but one day!!

Re: Possibly selling a 68 Suburban
My opinion on the 2wd Blazers is this: If I had one I'd want it low. Not on the ground, but pretty low. So I might as well convert a 4x4 and get the factory "Z" up front for far less money and save the 2wd's for the factory-resto/collectors.
That's just me. |

When I built my first one, no one even cared that they made 2wd Blazers so the shock factor was as much fun as anything. No one could believe that it was a "factory" truck. Actually- the full convertible top is what really got them asking questions. This was back when the whole "convertible truck" phase was going strong ( remember Ratical Tops anyone?) Everyone who saw it thought I had just cut the roof off of a pickup. As far as pics of the Burb go- here are a couple of pics:

Re: Possibly selling a 68 Suburban
crews... that would be one difficult decision, but for me I would tend to lean towards the Blazer. 2wd Blazers are getting harder and harder to find... But I do love the burb, that thing looks pretty sweet!
By the way... I will call you in the morning when I hit Warrenton just to give you a heads up that we're on the way.

Re: Possibly selling a 68 Suburban
I love the burbs, but I had to choose, it would be a 2wd Blazer hands down. There are really aren't even any convertible cars I've rather have than a 2wd Blazer because convertible cars look like crap with the top up IMO. The Blazers look sexy with or without the top!
