Locar is a good setup. been used in street rods for years. they have different length shifters.

Re: Colum To Floor Conversion- Advice

its been years since i had a truck with a column shifter but Hurst had one specifically designed for this application in our trucks years back and im talking back in 1987 I dunno if they still make it but it sat nice and high and allowed the full swing .. someone rigged a car one in one of my old trucks and if you hit a bump in third it would kick it out of gear.. the hurst never did that
I dont know if they still make it but you could prolly check their web site

Re: Colum To Floor Conversion- Advice

I installed my HURST floor Shifter a bout 5 years back. The only reason on why I did that install was due to I didn't have the money to replace or repair the column shifter. But I would really want to get it back onto the column again. Just think its pretty cool. You don't see much column shifters anymore.

Re: Colum To Floor Conversion- Advice

I have done 3 trucks with B&M Truck Megashifter kits (two with bench seats and one with a console and buckets). The kits are the same as a standard Megashifter, but has the taller bracket and cover included for the truck seat. It works real well in daily use and stands up to hard hitting abuse. I usually get rid of the "T" handle and install a ball knob for ease of use.
