383 stroker is in!
I pulled my tired old 305 out yesterday and installed a 383 stroker I got from a friend of mine in its place. We finally finished it after a lot of minor issues today. I still have some tweaking to do, need to replace the leaky old set of headers we had to use, resolve some power steering pump mounting issues (drove it home w/o the ps), and I can't remember what else right now, but it's in and running. It's a completely different truck now....mean and loud.
I'm so sore, tired, and achy...but glad it's in!

Re: 383 stroker is in!
yes, yes....I know. But I didn't get home with it until midnight tonight, so do I get a little slack...say 12 hours or so worth?

Re: 383 stroker is in!
How is it in the power department compared to the 305?
I have a 305 in mine, Taurus's kick my arse, just wondering

Re: 383 stroker is in!
its a night and day difference between the worn out 305 and the 383. get rid of that 305!
I still need to hook up the p.s., clean up the wiring, replace the headers, and then clean/detail things...but here it is: and the nasty old 305 we pulled out:
