Power steering box trouble

Well i was leaving from school today and i heard a clunk and my steering got real sloppy on my 76 k10 so when I got home i popped the hood and noticed the whole power steering box was twisted and the two bolts on the front were missing. I found them both laying in spots on the frame. I also noticed that my frame was cracked and welded and then cracked again. any suggestions, has this happened to anyone else? Thanx in advance.

Re: Power steering box trouble

HAd the same thing happen on my 80 C-10 years ago.

i cut a 1/2 in plate to fit the back side of the frame, drilled holes to match the PS box and welded the plate in never had any problems.

good luck

I had the same problem. J.C. Whitney has a kit that you weld on. I got it and it worked perfect. Has front and back plate that you weld on. Already has holes drilled in it. Here is the link. http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/S...me+support+kit
All you have to do is pull off steering box weld these plates on put the box back on and your good.
