someone straighten me out on A/C
Ok...So ive got a SBC, and i want to use a GM compressor.
I need: the compressor condensor drier?(same as evaporator?) then the blower/fan deal? To have a heater i need the fan(ratcage looking thing) right? If you cant tell...im kinda lost, basically im askin what parts i need for Heat and A/C |

Its often cheaper and easier to by the vintage air or hotrod air kits.
A drier is not the same as an evaporator. |

Yes i know....id like to be smarter than the average rock and know how the stuff works though. And the kit i found doesnt have the GM compressor like i want...hence why i made a thread

I understand where your coming from but they didn't have a stock A/C so anything you would need for the inside would be from some one like Vintage air. I've seen some very cobbled A/C installs from early 70's trucks into a 55-59. They didn't look or work very well.
You can specify a GM compressor with the kit. It would take a phone call but then you would get what you want. As for knowing how it works just pick up a Auto A/C book from haynes or chilton at your part store. Its not a complicated system. |

If your SBC is pushing power steering, etc. you might want to invest in a serpentine belt system.
