heated seats
I have bucket seats from a 97 tahoe in my blazer that need reupholstered. I was thinking of adding seat heaters when I get this done. Does anyone have experience with this? Are these a good deal? http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Re: heated seats
I don't know if they are a good deal but heated seats are a good example of something that was so popular in the aftermarket that car companies started offering it on their new cars.

Re: heated seats
i put those in my blazer recently when I put the upholstery on. so far, it's some of the best money i've spent. i know, you might be thinking "who needs seat heaters in Texas?" lemme tell ya, for a drop top, they are worth every penny... just 'cause it's hot in the daytime doesn't mean it can't get cool at night. and if you get rained on a little, it's sometimes hard to get the chill out, but these take care of that.
Wife HATED the idea of me installing them, but now she has them on most of the time, and rides with me a little more now... it's not so much the one on the bottom cushion that's nice, but the one on the back is the BOMB!

Re: heated seats
my invoice reads that they came from Sports Imports, LLC (www.sportsimportsltd.com)
product ID# SIL-04 Peak 11"x11" Dual Pad Universal Carbon Fiber Seat Heater Kit $65.00 qty: 2 Total: $130.00 Shipping: $11.90 Total $141.90 I think there was another model upgrade from that. this was the "midgrade" option... it has two temp settings, and the "hot" gets...well, HOT! I am very happy with them, and i rec'd them in just a few days.

Re: heated seats
Thanks cstanley- Can you feel them through the seat cover, not the temperature but the pad itself when it is not on?

Re: heated seats
Heck, mine are already starting to work.....temps climbing, humidity, too.
I'm all for someone going for the gold in personalizing our vehicles. I'm letting 'Ol Sol' do my seat heaters. Wish Frosty would keep 'em cooler this summer, though.

Re: heated seats
nope, can't feel 'em. you might feel the older style cheap-o's that use a "coil" element, but as long as you stick with the carbon fiber ones, you're good. it's about like a single-layer bandana in consistency, whatever that is worth...
