Backspace options

Hey guys, i know this has been touched on b4, but i couldnt find it.

Im going this weekend to a car show to try and sell my 72, and then if i do im getting wheels for my 66. I have 100 percent stock 4 wheel disks on the 66 and i knowl ill need a spacer for most wheels to "avoid" the hub. What im wondering is if anyone knows what the max bacspace is for a wheel on an all stock 66 C-10 swb with inline 6. I would just look at the truck but its 5 hrs away and i cant measure. Even if u have a similar setup and just wanna state ur specs, that would be really helpful. Im goin for the wheels in the pshop...

Thanks guys, appreciate it...

BRAD

Question Re: Backspace options

I'm a bit confused.... how can you be 100% stock with four wheel discs? When you get away from stock there are fewer and fewer easy answers of course.

However, I can tell you that on a stepside, with an 8 inch wide wheel and any reasonable width tire, you will want about 4 inches of backspacing. That is with stock rear axle and drum brakes. There may be more room with a fleetside.

IMO you should measure what you have to avoid a possible expensive mistake.

Re: Backspace options

Wow, i cant believe i wrote discs, sry, my bad, its drums, all drums....And yea, i know i need to measure, but i was just wonderin to see what the prices were like for things i wanna buy. I didnt end up buyin anything anyway, although instead of selling my truck, i traded it for a 78 Silverado short step with me addin an extra 2500 to get the truck, so wheels wont be for a while now, lol...
