Front discs dragging!
Just installed a new mastercylinder and old power booster. The booster did not have an acctuator rod so I pulled one out of an older assy. I just read in the rebuild manual that the length of this rod is critical and must be measured with a "go/no go" gauge. I did not do this so wondering if this is the problem.

Jack up the front of the truck, and rotate the wheels. If you can feel a drag, loosen the nuts on the mastercylinder and pull it away from the booster. If the drag goes away you found your problem. I have also seen new mastercyclinders right out of the box be defective and do this. Good Luck

I'll bet Tom is correct in his assumption that the brakes will loosen up, when you pull the booster away from the firewall. I know for a fact that the rods vary in length, so you might just have to pull the booster away, measure the difference in relation to the firewall, and take some length out of the rod. I'm sure I"ve made this reply clear as mud, but I hope it helps in some way...lol

Thanks guys...I'll bet I can put a shim between the booster and the mastercylinder and it would loosen up too...thanks again. I will try that now.

I put a 0.075 washer between the MC and the booster and it seems to have solved the problem. Thanks for the help!
