Re: The 60-66 trucks name
I have a book on Chevy trucks and they refer to 60-66's as the "pinched waist" design. I hardly ever hear that term used though.

Re: The 60-66 trucks name
The '60-'66 Chevy Trucks were known as the V-8 Era Trucks and and the '67-'72 Chevy Trucks were known as the Custom Sport Truck Era. This information is from the CHEVROLET PICKUPS 1946-1972, by John Gunnell.

Re: The 60-66 trucks name
while searching on the net I found this information on what to call these trucks. Here is the link, it is on wikepedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_C/K Before 1960 the designation system for trucks was the 3100, 3200, and 3600 designations for short 1/2, long 1/2 and 3/4-ton models SO, begining in 1960 the C/K series was born. 1960-1966 First Generation 1967-1972 Second Generation 1973-1987 Third Generation 1999-1998 Forth Generation (GMT400) 1999-2007 GMT800 So, The 60-66 is a First Gen C10.
