Difference in years..
Hey guys, im looking for a 60-66 chevy truck, longbed 2wd to put airbags on. I have seen some different models, body wise between the years. I have a 79 chevy and know that there is a difference in body styles from the 73-80 and the 81-87, is this true for the 60-66? If so, how can you tell?

Re: Difference in years..
The cab is the same between the '60-'63 (wrap-around windshield) and the '64-'66 (non wrap-around windshield). There are a number of other subtle differences, but this is the major difference.

Re: Difference in years..
that has a 1960 grille
grills changed over the years along with the fender emblems the '60-62 have different hoods that are big and flat in the front and the '60-'63 cabs are like the one you posted

Re: Difference in years..
nope. It's either short bed or long bed. anything else is custom.

Re: Difference in years..
not new or repo. you will have to find a used one.
'60-62 frames are different than the '64-66 frames keep that in mind if you look for a used fleet bed lilred66 (Tony) is in kansas, i'm sure he can help you find one, if he doesn't have one

Re: Difference in years..
yea, i PM him to see if he could find me a whole truck, but he never said anything back.. But i will see if i can get that step side from that guy who has it, ill see if i can call him tomorrow. The good thing is that i think it might run too, its moved last time i seen it, thats a good thing, but also a bad, he will want more for it, hoping i can get it for about 500 or so..

Re: Difference in years..
you could extend the frame and put a long bed on it, shouldn't be too hard.
I would figure you would be able to find a long bed truck easier, and maybe cheaper, than a short bed one
