Matt...New guy.

Hi guys. I actually logged on here several months ago, but never got around to signing in here.

I'm another old retired US Navy guy (43). I live in western Kentucky. I work in the Gulf of Mexico on an oil platform....No, I can't do anything about gas prices... They don't give me a break either.

I've got a 91 GMC K-5 Jimmy that I've had for six or seven years. Bought it while I ws finishing up my Canoe Club time in Florida. It's my off-road toy. Of course, I made my 16 year old son drive it for a while so he could really understand gas prices. Now, he loves it and hates gas pumps.

I just picked up an 86 Chev K-10 shortbed. It needs some love, but it has a great body, and most of the drivetrain is solid. 305 swapped for a 383. 12 bolt rear...I didn't think they were using 12 bolts in half tons by 86, so it must be swapped in, also. Needs a new seat, gas tanks, headers, and just some TLC. Not sure if I'll keep it or sell it when I'm done. We'll see.

I'm still looking for 69 to 72 Blazer, or shortbed...or longbed...2 or 4 wheel drive... Hmmm... Maybe both. I'll have more...I've owned eight or nine over the years. I can't even tell you how many 73 to 91's I've had over the years. I love them, too.
I drive newer crap as daily drivers. Wife has an 02 Yukon SLT. I have an 06 Z-71 crew cab. Son drives a 91 S-10 blazer (after driving the lifted/locked/4:56 geared Jimmy, he was ready for some gas mileage.

That's it for now. I appreciate the help so far. Maybe I can help out some of you guys, too!

Thanks,
