65 Chevy Stepside
Jus thought I would get some opinions on my truck I just picked up. It's a 1965 Checy c-10 stepside. It will be the first Truck I have ever restored. So far i'm learning and look forward to diving into this project. Just finished up some wiring in the pole barn so I have a little more light. Tell me what you think. Also wondering if anyone knew of an ideal donor vechiles for this truck, as now I have a 1990 g-series van that im removing the tbi system, ecm and 350 from an putting it into my truck. I know it's alot of work but it will be worth it. Still looking for a donor vechile I can pull disk brakes, gas tank, and maybe the steering column. Do you recommend relocating the gas tank? Thanks.

to the board from Mid-MO!!!
You'll find this place to become your second home. There's tons of information, friends, parts, .... and so much more. Just to wanted to bring this to your attention.... 2008 Board Meet in Big Sandy, TN As far as moving the tank to the rear, it is completely personal preference situation.

Re: 65 Chevy Stepside
Hello and a warm welcome from Sacramento, CA. Should be fairly simple to adapt the disc brakes using a pair of drop spindles

65 Chevy Stepside Poject 2-21
Well it's been a while since I have posted any pictures of my project. Thought I would give you an update...I have all of the body panels off, they are all in easy repairable shape. I have an '85 donor truck for disc brakes, booster, steering column, power steering, and a few other goodies. Also, have a rear differential off of a '71 with the 5 lug set up. (12 bolt) I bought a '71 350 V8 4 bolt main with camel back heads. Right now I am looking for a manual transmission, what do you recommend?? Also, i am going to go with the newer style silverado seats and console with the seatbelt built in. I am getting the frame powder coated within the next week, i'll post osme pictures. Then I will reassemble the frame completely and start working on the body panels. Here are some random pictures ofall the stages I went through...lately it has been hard working on it with the Michigan winter an dno heat in the barn.
Thnaks for looking! Any reccomendations help! I hope all those pictures worked...
