Question for Longhorn Man!
Longhorn Man, were any late '68 or early '69 GMC 8.5' Widesides built with V-6's? Should have been an available combination. And, I have seen 3500 series 9' Fendersides with V-6's too.

Re: Question for Longhorn Man!
Yeah,`69 was the last V6.O/T,I have some n.o.s. GMC 3500 fender badges with just that on them,no Custom/Sierra/etc. and no V-SIX or V-EIGHT.I was thinking the same style badge may have come on StepVans or something else, even later. Then it hit me,no V6 after`69.So,these must be for a 70-72 base truck with standard 6.I`m using them on my K/30 GMC Fenderside project.

Re: Question for Longhorn Man!
Thee is a member of this board who has kinda gone MIA... His name is Paul, lives in PA. Screen name chevyfatman. Real cool cat.
He has a 69 GMC 'longhorn' with the v-6. I never got to see it in person, but it was a pretty cool rig. I think he went to kansas to get it. Real cool cat, wish i knew what happened to him. He stopped by here twice to visit on his parts runs. |
