no tach why
why were there no tacs in these trucks execpt for the bonanza in the 80's dont you think that the silverados would have tachs when the bonzana line was dropped?

There wasn't a good reason except saving money. Even after a base price of $9209 on a K30 pickup and another $718 for the Silverado interior they wanted another $61 for the tach, $90 if you didn't have the Silverado package in 1981.

Get one out of IROC, theyr'e plentiful, and there's a thread here on how to convert your cluster to accomodate it. I've acquired the Iroc cluster but not yet ready to do the actual swap.

Use the smaller Iroc one, it's all covered in the other thread, but I can't seem to find it off hand. Anyone got a link to the Iroc tach thread?
