68 front end rebuild
Hey guys.
I've got to replace my power steering gearbox, and I for some reason never got my front end aligned, so now I need new front tires-very bad wear inside. Anyway, I figured now would be a good time to do what I should have done when my truck was all torn apart, rebuild the front suspension. I replaced the upper and lower ball joints during the rebuild, but nothing else. What parts do I really need to get to rebuild the front suspension? It doesnt feel tight, so I'd like to fix it. Thanks

Re: 68 front end rebuild
I’m in the process of doing a full front end on my 79. Here’s my list hope it helps:
Control arm bushings Lower Ball Joint Upper Ball Joint tie rod ends Idler arm Shocks Pitman Arm Gear Box (rebuild) Stabilizer Sway Bar I’m also making new control arms, when I pulled the bushings on mine the mounts were shot. And a lot of people say you don’t need the stabilizer or sway bar but they make the ride nicer.

Re: 68 front end rebuild
Check out ECE, they offer a complete front end rebuild kit, all MOOG parts for around $575. A little high, but if you price the parts at your local O'Reilly's it will be over $600+.

Re: 68 front end rebuild
I dunno, doesnt seem as bad as I thought. For 2 inner and 2 outer tie rod ends, 2 adjustor sleeves, an idler arm, a pitman arm, 2 front control arm shaft and bushing kits, and 2 rear control arm shaft and bushing kits, it only totals to about $330, tax included.

Re: 68 front end rebuild
I bought everything from Amazon, spent $230 for everything you listed accept for the control arm shafts. All Moog parts.
