WTB or Trade-V6 4X4 Parts

I don't advocate swapping small blocks for V-6s but here's an opportunity for someone who's hell bent on doing it or has already done it. I'm looking for a couple of engine crossmembers and motor mounts for a 67-69 4X4 originally equipped with a V-6. I've got small block parts to trade if desired. Thanks!

Re: WTB or Trade-V6 4X4 Parts

Looks like the only thing you need to complete your collecton is a 67 GMC with the V6 in it, too bad your not closer to Idaho, would make you a good deal on one. Oh well a TTT for ya anyway. Dave

Re: WTB or Trade-V6 4X4 Parts

Thanks Dave! I'd love to find an all original 67 K1500 or K2500 with power steering. There can't be too many of those running around.

I know you said '67 - '69, but would a '65 have anything you need? I had one and sold it, but I think I could buy it back reasonably. 305E with a SM420 and divorced transfer case.

Bob-

I don't have one I'm parting however in the event the plow truck I picked up a few months ago doesn't pan out, I'll make sure to let you know.

The V6 definitely has some grunt to it!

Re: WTB or Trade-V6 4X4 Parts

67 C-30,

I don't know if the crosmember and motor mounts from a 60-66 would be the same, I hadn't even considered it. Any way to get a closer shot of the engine crossmember area? My Panel Truck is a NAPCO so it has a converted 2WD frame, it doesn't have a crossmember at all. That's a pretty cool looking truck, you should get it back and drive it!

02 GMC 97 FIII,

Nice looking truck, I hope it works out for you but let me know if it doesn't. I think you'll find the V-6 is hard to beat in a work truck, you're right, they don't mind grunting a little!

There is a high school kid on here who goes by Jake and lives in Maine. He just swaped a small block in place of the V6 in his 1968 K2500.

Depends which engine. The 305 stuff is pretty easy to find, but it starts to get harder for the others.

You just need a 4wd crossmember, right?Aren`t the engine towers the same?I had some V6 towers set aside once I.D.`d.I`ll see if they are still seperated.I meant to label them.

Re: WTB or Trade-V6 4X4 Parts

My 68 GMC 3/4 ton 4x4 is for sale. It is complete and runs/drives good. It has 305 with 3 spd. I drove it home from Detroit Lakes last winter. I am asking $1400 for it, but it is negotiable. Pics are at home, but I can get them to you if you are interested. Let me know. Thanks
