Trying to ID a 3/4 ton front axle
Hey everyone, got this axle today, not sure what it is, It doesnt look quite like a Dana 44, the tubes are bigger, but it doesnt quite look like a dana 60. Anyone know what it is, it is out of a 77 Chevy 3/4 ton, the rear end is a 14B FF, and the T-case is a 203 mated to a TH350 4bbl original.
Going to possibly stuff this axle under my 72 Blazer to make it an 8 lug.

The 10 bolt is not a bad axle if you are just going for the 8 lug set up to run big tires on a street queen . I think O.R.D has a 10 bolt in one of there wheeling trucks .

Re: Trying to ID a 3/4 ton front axle
I am thinking for the time being I am going to run the 10 bolt, then swap in a 60 later, this will get my Blazer turned into a 8 lug, and allow me to do all the swapping of parts there.

The spindles, hubs, rotors and brake backing plates will swap off that 10 bolt onto your Dana 44 to get 8 lug on your truck. No reason to swap the whole axle, and the calipers are the same so you don't even need to disconnect the brake hoses.
