Re: July 20, 2008 what did you get done?

The GF was under the weather Sat so I spent some quality time w/her in doors. She gets baaaaaaaaaaad migraines & lately they seem to take her out for the better part of the day.

Today I worked on making the templates for smoothing the firewall on my 68. I got the panels all fit in place (had to re-make one because it didn't look symetrical to me). I actually have one big patch piece for the smaller heater box holes vs. the 2 that are in the pic. I figure it would give a better (flatter) surface to work with & be less trouble over-all. I also took a pic of the thermometer as I was cleaning up @ 8:00pm tonight . . .....

Re: July 20, 2008 what did you get done?

Sorry to hear about your dad Bob.

I actually got something done this weekend. I got my serpentine brackets blasted and painted and test fit them on the engine. I also located a crank pulley. I cleaned and painted an alternator I got from a board member and did the same with a tilt column I got off the net. Everything turned out great and I think im about ready for the install!

Re: July 20, 2008 what did you get done?

I got my new RF Spindle painted and bought all the moog stuff I need to rebuild my front end, though not all of it is in the pic. I can't put any of it on yet because I hurt my shoulder and can't even pick up my cigarettes without it hurting.

Here's pics of the goods.

Re: July 20, 2008 what did you get done?

I had family in town so I spent the weekend enjoying quality time with them. My nephew brought his soon to be wife and her two daughters to stay the weekend. The girls (4 & 11) spent every available hour they could in the pool. The adults hung out and consumed large quantities of grilled food and beverages.

I got up early this morning and spent several hours with my landscaper working on my sprinkler system. It need a tune up since I was getting lots of hot spots in my grass.

Not a "productive" weekend, but very enjoyable...

Re: July 20, 2008 what did you get done?

Spent most of the weekend cleaning my cars and one of my trucks. I had a guy call me about buying my 59 Rambler that I've been storing at my Dad's shop so I cleaned it up and snapped some shots (don't care if it sales now ) and then I cleaned up and buffed my new wagon... 62 Buick Special.....should have it bagged and on 18's before Fort Worth Good Guys......should!

Saturday...spent the day at the lake with the family...i towed my brother-in-law's sea-doo with my 79 blazer. It did a great job. Of all the trucks i have owned this one might be my favorite.
Sunday...I spent indoors nursing my sunburn

I've spent alot of my time this weekend trying not to go insane. Between sleeplessness, my uncle,a dn work, I just haven't had time for my baby.

Last week I had the lower door panels redone and didn't like the way they came out, so the truck is going back into the shop to have them do it again.

well i had my troubles this weekend and you will read them in my posts i put this morning, but troubles lead only to one thing progress. once i figure out the kinks it will have a reliable air-conditioned truck so i figure thats a plus to what it was a couple weeks back. if i get this finished this afternoon i plan on finishing my train horn install, i already mounted the k3la underneathe the truck and mounted the air tank, i need to run some airlines and mount the compressor.

Re: July 20, 2008 what did you get done?

My wife and I both have family in town, so i got very little done. I changed the oil in my wife's car, and used my truck to pull the boat out to the lake to take my mom and my sister for a ride. The rest of the weekend was spent eating and visiting.

Re: July 20, 2008 what did you get done?

I cleaned my truck and took it to the niftees fiftees cruise-in on saturday afternoon. They had a pretty good crowd and there were a lot of very nice cars and trucks.

Sunday I drove around looking for a blazer. I am dying to start that project.

Birthday 51st on Saturday and as a result I go nothing done
Sunday swapped the front clip and doors from the suburban

Found out once again that rusty old vehicles DO NOT like to be
taken apart . spent the morning breaking 8 out of 10 bolts
