Flying Apache hood ornament?
Hello,
I have the chance to buy a 61 apache that has the emblem of a "flying apache" on the hood as an ornament. Has anybody heard of something like this before? I haven't seen one before on the hood. Also, I have been thinking of buying a 61 (my birth year). How "good" are these trucks? If I restore one, is it a good investment do you think? The one I'm looking at is a 3/4 ton fleetside with a 4 speed. Any additional information or comments would be appreciated. Thank you, Joe |

Re: Flying Apache hood ornament?
My dad's as well, it is an investment of blood, sweat, tears, and mostly money. Some are more valuable than others, but if your whole goal is to turn around and make money, this is not the hobby to enjoy. This hobby is all about loving our vehicles and having fun with them, as well as using them.

Re: Flying Apache hood ornament?
Thanks for the response. Let me clarify what I meant by being a good investment. Can I find all the parts and pieces to restore this vehicle to its original look? I'm afraid that I'll get half way through and not have the material (due to no longer available or way to expensive or very hard to find) and have a vehicle that is half completed.
Thanks again for any help, Joe |

Re: Flying Apache hood ornament?
Between all the catalogs available for these trucks and the members and vendors on this board, you'll be able to find plenty of parts.

X2, parts for these trucks are readily available through LMC, brothers, and many other vendors.
