what is the difference in 1/2 ton srings and 3/4 ton springs

i was wondering if 1/2 ton springs will fit in a 3/4 ton front end.i know there is difference in the weight fron 1/2 to 3/4 ton spings. i have a 1960 chevy that i put a 3/4 ton front x member in the front 3/4 ton came from a 80 c20 camper special truck will 1/2 ton springs fit in the front x member for a softer ride and also so i can get lowering coil spings for a 1/2 ton truck. any help or in put would be very apperciated.
