Re: Can somone explain this bag setup?
Looks like the red tank there is for air and the blue things under the axle are the airbags that lower or raise the rear of the truck.

Re: Can somone explain this bag setup?
Its not done yet. Those blue things look like rags under the axle. the bags are next to it with no top mounting plate.... Thats my guess...

Re: Can somone explain this bag setup?
yes. those rags are between jack stands and the axle so not to scratch the axle.

Re: Can somone explain this bag setup?
pretty sure the blue things are rags that are protecting the frame from the jack stands. The air bags are black and located on the outside of the frame rails. This set up is not finished, there's no upper bag mounts.

Re: Can somone explain this bag setup?
Sorry, I didn't explain my question better.
I know what the tank is, I didn't see the rags so that doesn't matter, and i know there aren't top bag mounts.... What I meant was, Is he still gonna run the leaves and bags? Does that get low? I've never seen that before. Most are 3 and 4 links... |

Re: Can somone explain this bag setup?
probably just helper bags...n2trux is using leafs still IIRC. not everyone uses bags to lay out, and from the looks of his notch, hes one of them.

Re: Can somone explain this bag setup?
Apparently its called air over leaf... wonder how low it goes.
I'd like to run bags up front to get flat, maybe that in the rear for a nice drop. |

Re: Can somone explain this bag setup?
AOL set up that doesn't have the top bag brackets installed yet. It gets you low enough that the pumpkin is about 1" from the bottom of the bed. If you don't want to cut the bed, that's about as low as you can get.
Here's mine- The C-notch

Re: Can somone explain this bag setup?
So do the leaf springs only act as a way to keep the axle attached to the frame; they don't support the weight of the truck or provide any suspension?

Re: Can somone explain this bag setup?
IMO that is lowering done right, Nice stance, full use of the bed, not tearing up the street or the underside of the truck. Plus I bet that one rides real nice.

Re: Can somone explain this bag setup?
The leaf springs are there instead of using a link setup. It's the cheaper way to do it money wise, but it's still a decent setup. The leaf springs are there only to keep the axle from tracking side to side, front to back, etc.

Re: Can somone explain this bag setup?
I have never seen and air over setup, or helper bag setup used like that before (to lower) everyone aroundd here uses them to increase their tow capasity and improve tow quality and seldom if ever put any kind of notch with it.

Re: Can somone explain this bag setup?
Some of you young men need to go pick up some old Truckin' mags from back in the day. That's the O.G. way to bag a truck right there. That's how it was done before everyone and their step brother became a 'fabricator'.
Believe it or not, some pretty awesome trucks were built before F.B.I. or Suicide Doors came around. I know it's hard to believe, but it's true. Last edited by JCampbell; 08-22-2008 at 01:05 PM. |

I think the AOL setup as shown above puts a little too much stress on the leaf springs, and being that people usually remove a leaf or two or three, I think it would be prone to breaking over time. But that's just my opinion, most will probably disagree. |

Hey, N2TRUX... thats the firestone ride rite isn't it? Which one did you purchase? Do you have a model number? I wanted to see if I could find someone that carries it locally.
