1969 C-notch problem
Ok so I ordered a c-notch from CPP for my 1969 gmc w/leaf springs. I wanted to install a flip kit and needed the c-notch. However the guy at the suspension shop told me I ordered the wrong c-notch. He said it is suppose to sit flush with the frame and mine doesnt. Here are some pics of my c-notch if u can see it has a curve to it is that how it suppose to be. Need help

Re: 1969 C-notch problem
That is correct. The 63-72 frames are crooked in that area- the notch is contoured to fit. The suspension guy is probably just not familiar with these trucks...

Re: 1969 C-notch problem
Then you either have a 4wd frame or a later model swap. All of the 2wd frames, coil or leaf, had the crooked rails- AFAIK. Maybe post up some pics and we can figure out what you're dealin' with.

Re: 1969 C-notch problem
I have seen that too, were some frames are straight and some are crooked to fit the notches like the ones you have there. I orderd the same ones that you have and ended up making the frame from c notch back.

Re: 1969 C-notch problem
I just noticed that you have a 3/4 ton, dunno if that makes a difference. I just know 1/2 ton stuff. I know the 3/4 coil trucks were 'crooked', dunno 'bout the leaf trucks...
There are bunches of places that sell bolt-in notches for straight rails. Check out ***************** for a cheap, high quality piece.

Re: 1969 C-notch problem
Nope. Your rails are straight. The contoured notch in the above pictures will not fit your frame.
