Ever seen a '67 '88-'98?
I have and it looked pretty cool. I know most of y'all will hate this, but it's all good. I thought he did an excellent job.
I saw this at the Charlotte Auto Fair today.

Nice looks like alot of work went into that he probably could have restored one for the same work.

Re: Ever seen a '67 '88-'98?
I feared the worst when I read the title but I think I like it there is a heck of a lot of work involved with this truck and it stands out.

Re: Ever seen a '67 '88-'98?
Sorry fella's. Those are the only pics I took
Yes, it looks as nice in person as in the pics. No, no other "custom" touches at all (that I saw.) Maybe someone going to the autofair Saturday/Sunday can take a few pics? The truck is located near the tunnel entrance, a couple rows over, in the "orange" swap meet area. He was actually using it as a "show vehicle" because he's selling the clip as a kit!

Re: Ever seen a '67 '88-'98?
Also, he said the hood was UNMODIFIED!
There is also a lot of detail to make the lower fender cup merge. It was very well done. Honestly, with only a quick glance, at first, I thought it was "just another" 67 with an 88-98 step bed on it.

Re: Ever seen a '67 '88-'98?
Must be fiberglass then? Still alot of work to make a mold....
The hood might be unmodified, BUT it is specially built.

Re: Ever seen a '67 '88-'98?
Sorry for the double posts...
but I just noticed there are no front turn signals? That's an easy enough fix, just use the factory 67/68 lower grill piece w/ turn signals. That can't be legal w/ no turn signals? Maybe they were hidden?

Re: Ever seen a '67 '88-'98?
The hood (aside from the cowl induction) looks to be stock for the 88-98 trucks.
As much as I hate to say it, I do realy like it and would think about it if I had a reg cab stepside 88-98. Now that being said I think he should include some half round bed rail caps to give it the rolled edge look.

Well at least the front and rear wheel openings match. Looks like a nice job for sure, but I would take an original any day over that.

Re: Ever seen a '67 '88-'98?
It`s a good looking 88-98 and a crappy looking 67-68 all at the same time. The best thing about it is maybe GM will see it and get a hint.

Quote:
I half jokingly said after he told me you could buy it as a kit "You're not cuttin' up a bunch of good 67/68 sheet metal to make these, are ya?" His answer was no, only the one it took to make this one. I didn't ask but I guess fiberglass make the most sense? At least for the fenders and you can buy aftermarket 67/68 grills. A chrome bumper would have made it really "pop" but he shaved the bolts and rechroming is really expensive, maybe that's why it's been painted? I actually have a reason for wanting an 88-98 now I'd do a fleet though. Reg cab, 5.7/5speed 2wd, dropped and victory red

To be honest, I was expecting another "new bed/old cab" truck. I like this much better than that.

Re: Ever seen a '67 '88-'98?
That`s alot of good metal work there. The grille is peaked in the center more (more angles back) and look at that bumper. If tat`s a steel bumper then I d imagine that`s all metal work.I believe the grille is narrowed as well.I`d like that guy`s calling card.
