Thumbs up swapping motors

I changed my mind again on motor swaps guess a guys intitled do thatputting my 283/ 350 combo in the 1963 c10 shortbed.My 1966 c-10 going have the 305/350

seems to me like that is twice the work to accomplish the same thing.
is there a problem with the 305?

no problem with the 305 it has 350 heads just wanting get the 63 up and going sooner than later.Got the 305 allready so I want need a 350

so wouldn't it be quicker to put the 305 (i assume it is still waiting in your garage?) in instead of pulling the 283 out of your truck and then putting it in the '63.
i'm just trying to understand
if i remember correctly the 350 heads have a bigger combustion chamber which would reduce power on a 305....
if you put 305 heads on a 350 you get higher compression ratio....
maybe i have it bass ackwards, dunno

I dont know on horsepower but www.mortec.com said the heads I got are 76cc and 350/400 heads sorry just looked that up on web.I drive for the fun not race them cant afford the gasto race it.

I also got another 283 in the garage with a tittle of the truck it come out of with only 58,000 documented miles on it saving for later build in few years

Y'all are right about the heads. 305 heads are 58cc and will bump compression up on a 350. The 76 cc heads will lower the compression on a 305, but should work okay.

Actually another reason I want put the 283 in the 63'LILBLUE' years back when I was in high school my Dad had a 66 GMC with 283 3speed we could get a scarce in all 3 gears it was fun so the 1963 c-10 that my Sons too. will have 283 with 3 speedmy 66 with 305/350 turbo with 350/400 block heads
