Lets talk about distribution blocks!
So I'll be running disc brakes on all 4 corners and need a distribution block. I have a few floating around. One is from a 72 3/4ton (so front discs, rear drums). The other one is from my 68 C10, but it had disc brakes on the front when I bought it. So I don't know if this one is a drum-drum or disc-drum distribution block.
I want a drum-drum distribution block. Are there any identifing marks on the blocks to be able to identify them? Thanks |

Re: Lets talk about distribution blocks!
Are you talking about a proportioning valve? And why run drum-drum when you will have 4wheel disc? CPP sells a disc-disc prop valve.

Re: Lets talk about distribution blocks!
Isn't the block that is right under the master cylinder the distribution block?
My thinking is that a disc-drum has bias built in to actuate the brakes correctly, where as the drum-drum doesn't bias it any and therefore will work with a disc-disc setup. What distribution block (or proportioning valve if that is what its called) are you running Frizzle? |

Re: Lets talk about distribution blocks!
Put a Wilwood valve on and call it a day - it looks trick, works well and costs less than an OE set up

Re: Lets talk about distribution blocks!
I think your on the right track, i remeber hearing something about if you have 4 wheel disc you can get away with using the distribution block from the 4 wheel drum application.

Re: Lets talk about distribution blocks!
ya know, now that I think about it, and read 1968SWBBigBlock's post, maybe I don't even need one. Just put an aftermarket porportioning valve on it. Maybe I'm trying to over complicate it.
