Pass on a smile!

A fellow member Tom Vogel, is sending me a grommet that I am needing for free! No shipping, no money, no trade.... Free!
So.... I am passing along a grommet to someone who needs it for free. The only catch is you have to keep it going. You must pass something else along free. Lets just see how many people we can help!

If you are in need of the grommet that seals the column to the firewall, shoot me a pm and I will mail it to ya.

Thanks again Tom!

Re: Pass on a smile!

That's a nice gesture. It's cool to see board members helping eachother out. I don't need anything right now, (maybe a tranny rebuild, I just about got it pulled tonight). All kidding aside, it is a nice gesture. Mario

I'm not trying to be greedy but my original one tore when I removed the steering column. I'll take it, then send something else out, I have a ton of stuff for someone to choose from.

This is a very cool thing that is happening. I just want to let everyone know that Yukon Jack did the same thing for me with a set of front shackles. Thanks again Mark!

Re: Pass on a smile!

Not a grommet but I just sent out a set of blazer bucket seat rails to another member over in NH.
...yeah, gave em to him for free, although he is paying for the $11.50 shipping.

A lot comes around and goes around here, it's great.

*It was a pay back, he got stuff from me for free cause he picked up a set of short-bed, bed sides when he was south picking up other stuff for himself, without charging me anything he brought them back.

I sent a carb out west awhile ago and gave a soft top to a guy in P.A., it all comes back around at some point, great group of great guys.

What's taking you guys so long to figure this system out?

I agree...a lot of great guys make up this board!

Another example of why this board is so cool!

Gotta admit I was on the receiving end of that soft top, whatta guy!! Plus a vent window, but the most important thing is that he let's me sit in the back of the bus with the cool guys...

Gave a kid that was having cooling problems an alum. 4 brl. intake., his wife said "you can repair your rad. or buy the intake, you can't have both", so I solved his problem by shipping the intake out free. I could relate to his situation in my younger year...

Great idea here, I'm sure we all have a pile of parts collecting dust in the basement, I know I do. Wonder if a WTGA is a legal post

Don't ask for my tow hooks or tilt column tho...lol

Re: Pass on a smile!

As I mentioned to Chevyman63 - I got introduced to this board's members generosity early one. My K20 had a three on the tree and was always hanging up - hated it! Course being a 69 it had the Rockwell T/C. I mentioned once in a post I wanted to change that someday and a guy way up in the east part of the country contacted me and said I could have an SM465 and Rockwell adapter for free, just had to take care of shipping.

His generosity taught me early on to try to help someone else out when I had something I didn't need.

Oh, I might add Chevyman63 returned the favor and sent me some door handle parts I needed - very appreciated Tim!

Re: Pass on a smile!

Yeah, had bob68327 send me a cowl, because mine was rusted and dented, completely free. He even took care of shipping and all! There are some great people on this board. Hoping to return on the favor by giving away some new rear coils eventually, I'm going to have no need for them when the suspension kit comes in.

Keep doing what you guys do best and rock on!

Re: Pass on a smile!

I sent a set of tires and wheels to Kali for a board member coming back from Iraq. I don't expect anything in return, otherwise it isn't giving, is it? BUT if anyone in AZ vacinity that wants to "give" me a single walled Blazer top, I won't turn it down!! I have always liked this board, lot's of generousity to go around, I am sure I have given other things, as that is the way I am, if I have it and you need it, it is your's, simple enough and expect nothing in return.

Its a neat thing to do. There is a thread on one of the firearm forums called "pay it forward". Check out how they did it.
