Re: 1973 HEI conversion

Replace the resistance wire that ran to your points system, from the fuseblock, with a 12guage wire and hook it up to the HEI "BAT" terminal. Thats it! Easy, Eh?

"OR" if he doesnt want to remove the resistance wire from the truck, You can runa 12g wire from a switched terminal on the fuse block to the dizzy.
I prefer to do it as mentioned above by Albatrossian, but that is on MY truck.

Re: 1973 HEI conversion

I am doing this today, I bought the Dist from summit for 89 and got the MSD 8.5 wires. it worked pretty good you have to crawl into the engine area to do it on my K20. Be careful withe the clips as the plastic is easy to break. Mine had a new cam put it made it a little harder to do.
