Rim Back space & disc brake
I'm planning on running 1 ton cucv axles front and rear (D60/14bff) with 38x13.50 TSL's on 15inch rims.
Anyone know what the right rim width/back space should be? Will I have any problems with the brake calibers clearing 15" rims if I do a disc brake conversion?

Re: Rim Back space & disc brake
I never personally ran 15" on a D60 but my buddy did and he had to grind down his front calipers a fair amount..a good grinding wheel and a six pack should do it hahhaa
![]() As fo backspacing I hear 3.5" alot..but again never did it with 15" so.... .02c ![]()

Would that be a 6 pack per side? ![]() So for a long time 15's were the rim size to have for wheeling since the sneaker sizing was plentiful and you had lots of rubber between the nasty hidden rock and your rim. Now that 16 and 16.5 is becoming more standard (you can tell how long I've been out of this) is now a good time to go that route? I'm at the early stages of my build (picking up CUCV axles next week) and I get to pick my rim size since I only have 6 lug today.

Re: Rim Back space & disc brake
Yep, 17" are a good size, if I were looking at rims, that is likely what I would go with.

Re: Rim Back space & disc brake
So currently I'm up to 17" Rim with a "sort of" 3.5" back space...

Re: Rim Back space & disc brake
What about rubbing to the inside?

Agreed. I'm thinking 38x12.5 (4" lift) or 39.5X13.5 (6" lift)
