Re: What did you get done? 10/19
Just finished lowering the black truck . 3.5 in the front and 5 inches in the rear . I was on call and worked on it between duties . I also attended my 9 yr olds soccer game , took my boys to their grandpa's and shot the rifles . Next weekend is youth weekend so we needed to make sure the rifles were still on .

Don't want to speak too soon, but, I think I got the fuel pump issue resolved in the lowrider!! We'll see later in the week.
Gonna prep for paint this week and lay down some HOT ROD Black next weekend. Kenny

Re: What did you get done? 10/19
Removed the spindles and blocks from my s10. The 5/6 drop wouldn't allow me to haul anything. Now she sports a 3/3 and is much better although not as sporty as before

I put my 81 silverado shortbox away for the winter along with my 86 iroc. Weather is nice enough to drive them, but school isn't allowing time to play.

Re: What did you get done? 10/19
I changed my transmission mount because I was getting a shake going down the road and the pan was almost touching the crossover...the new mount was a whole inch taller than the old one...when putting it in, I snapped the bolt that goes into the crossmember so had to wait until today to get another one...and that didn't fix the shake, so I replaced the u-joint which was the problem...
![]() then I painted and delivered a 55 gallon drum to a new place I'm going to be picking up wvo at... and I also moved the 1 kennel I had already set up to another part of the yard because the dogs were right up on the garage and then installed another kennel I just bought last week... Re: What did you get done? 10/19
Took the 86 out yesterday for a spin. Made a bracket (finally) to mount tranny dipstick about inch off firewall for clearance. Not a show piece but decent and does what I want it to.
Took the kids to the fair today, they had a lot of fun. Back to the grind tomorrow.

Got alot done. Finished priming the truck, repalced carb gaskets and set-up a pcv system, put on chrome valve covers, and scored a mini-starter from a buddy and installed it. pics can be found here:

Re: What did you get done? 10/19
Worked. Worked some more. Played around a little w/the firewall on my 68 but the city is forcing my hand it would seem. They're telling me it has to be an assembled/running vehicle (tagged/inspected & @ least looks like it can be driven) or it has to be out of sight.
So..... Now I'm bummed & trying to figure out my plan of action.

Re: What did you get done? 10/19
I was able to purchase a very clean '78 core support (BB one too), very nice front bumper, equally nice 73-78 headlight bezels, and 73-74 grill with a 292 emblem...all for $100 of CL. Everything but the grill will be going on the tan '77, replacing the far less nice pieces it has on their now. The guy I bought the stuff from was very nice and also gave me some good leads on some new (to me) salvage yards.
Chevyrado, those look fantastic!!!!!!!

Re: What did you get done? 10/19
Not much, I have a lead on a decent 82 C-10 to buy, and im not really looking forward to tearing my '86 down. It has to happen, and it's gone beyond my abilities but it has good parts, most of which will find a home on my '87 shortbox frame......there's almost too much going on, almost

Re: What did you get done? 10/19
Installed the new 5 speed transmission into the 86 behind the N/A 6.2L diesel, pulled the engine and transmission from the 67 Oldsmobile, and moved my 80 from one side of the shop to the other -- Just had to hear that straight piped turbo 6.2L sing one last time before it gets too cold to start it

Re: What did you get done? 10/19
went home for the first time in 5 weeks
Started to install my tilton style starter. Got it in and it worked fine in park and sounded great. Drove down the street and at 1/4 throttle in drive it was grinding the starter. So I shimmed it and now it seems to be too fa from the teeth. I don't know but at least my truck is running!!!!! thats what it sounds like now. I will need to fiddle with it more over thanksgiving Today drove to the block party the locals where having. Good food and blacky got to lay some rubber for th first time in 2 years. Also deleted my glass fuel filter but need to add a new filter ASAP. Replaced both u joints in the Tahoe rear shaft Damm plastic injected u joints piss me off. Installed the extang cover I got off cregs list for cheap. Looks dang good but had to heat it up with a hair dry to get it on. they hate 40 and bellow temps i think.

Re: What did you get done? 10/19
I went to a small local show and hung around for a couple hours... As I was leaving, I stopped to get gas and saw a 98 Tahoe with a brand new set of 17" Torq Thrust II's and Nitto Tires. He pulled in and I commented on how I was thinking about getting some for my 84. Long story... I bought them the next day for $1200.

Re: What did you get done? 10/19
i took apart the front end of the 84 swb and cut exactly one coil off. gace me a 2.25 inch drop. also installed a new altenator and new drive belts. Adjusted the rear brakes too. Need money to really get going on it, but i got some things coming up. Like getting married and having a baby come into this world in may, so, the truck will wait.
