LS1 Swap
Anyone done this? I've got an opportunity to get an LS1 Complete with tranny for "about $1500". It would come with wiring harness, computer, and all accessories. Just wandering what all I'm looking at here.
Thanks. |

Re: LS1 Swap
I done 5.3 4L60e from a 2003 Silverado,about the same swap.
You'll need the vats turned off in the pcm, motor mount adapters, and a crossmember for the trans. You can make it run using 3 wires and the stock fuse block or do a custom harness. I made the mounts and modified the crossmember myself, but you can buy them if you want. There are many sites dedicated to this swap. You can search this site and LS1.com,ls1truck.com.and lt1swap.com is probably the best Brendon can even reprogram your pcm. Do a youtube search for ls1 or 5.3 engines to see them running "stand alone". Hope this helps. |
