Engine Mount Dial-In
Bought this kit a while back from www.performanceonline.com with everything included. Nice quality. Instruction sheet said 'there may be some drilling and welding required.' Not a big deal, but when I mocked everything up last Saturday I found the motor mount centerlines on the engine are at about 17" and the tower bushing centers are only 15-1/4" from each other. 1-3/4" off. Three Options: * Notch the frame rails 1" on each side - drill new mounting holes - and maintain engine height. * Piggy-back weld another set of bushings (that intersect into the motor mounts off the towers) on top of the originals - maintaining the original geometry. * Make two machined blocks that go over the original bushing length (and bolt thru them) with three different holes that allow all the adjustment I could ever use. Thoughts?

Re: Engine Mount Dial-In
I would say the best way would be to trim the top flange on the frame and drill new holes. Just my .02

Re: Engine Mount Dial-In
I'm with Captainfab on this one-
just installed the 454 in my 66 and had to take about 1/4" notch out of both top frame rails to get the big block frame towers aligned (outward) properly |

Re: Engine Mount Dial-In
That is my engine. Just trimmed the rails and the bolt holes lined up. No drilling nesesary.
