For you Quadrajet guys: Check out this score!!
I just bought 55 quadrajets off a guy yesterday for $150. 98% of them are complete and 15 of them are the 800 cfm. No muscle car carbs but some good 67-72 truck carbs. That's just 2.9 dollars a carb. This is what I call holiday season profitability!!!!

After having built more than one in one day, I would not want to be looking at that pile of potmetal!
Good score, I reckon.

Re: For you Quadrajet guys: Check out this score!!
When you build them correctly they can be VERY nice carbs. It's all in the floats and metering jets. The factory just used bad parts, once you replace those with quality parts they work great.
Nice score. I got a score something like that on Holley carbs. I have a rubbermaid tub full of holley carbs and parts.

I will always run Edelbrock/Carter carbs due to their simplicity. To each their own, really a matter of preference. That IS a great score! Congrats!

Re: For you Quadrajet guys: Check out this score!!
I would say that was a good deal. Check the numbers on them in case some of them are really worth something. I made a good bit of money on ebay off of a similar lot I bought a couple of years ago from an old closed down mechanics shop.

Them Q-jet guys swear by them. I just think they are the ugliest carb ever made. Maybe second to the "predator" carb. Can you imagine running dual quadrajets on a tunnel ram???? lol

800 cfm and 750 cfm?
Man, that's a lot of cfm in the back of that vehicle! I think that works out to about 42,000 cfm :-)

Great score!
The only Q jets that are junk are those that have been ruined by someone that doesn't know how to work on them. I have seen plenty of them that worked great after 20+ years of service without a rebuild. I'd like to see a Holley do that

Re: For you Quadrajet guys: Check out this score!!
Dont listen to what some of these guys are saying. Quadrajets are great carbs if you are keeping the mechanicals fairly stock. Everyone says they are really complex but once you are used to them they aeren't so bad. My dad collects and rebuilds them, he has two or three dozen of em right now. Gets them at swap meets usually for $5 each. I guess those "other" carbs work better because they are chromed.
