Shocks?

Anybody had some suggestions on shocks? I'm putting a 6" lift with 39.5 TSL radials under my '72 jimmy. The truck will be 50/50 road/off road use. I really don't care about a nice ride but I don't want to skimp where I shouldn't either.

Re: Shocks?

The Rancho 9000's I had on were awesome compared to these Pro Comps I have on now. They will be getting switched out soon. Going back to the 4" from the 6".

Re: Shocks?

I really like my RS9000's as well but I kinda feel like I'll be wasting my $$ on a truck that will spend alot of time in the mud and trails.

Re: Shocks?

Have you ever ridden in a truck with a 6" lift---you don't need shocks, but you do need a soft comfy seat!!!

I've always gotten along well with ranchos. The adjustable ones are pretty good as far as I am concerned (9000's).

Have fun.

I hear ya, last lifted rig I was riding around in was a 3/4 ton long bed with a 8" all spring lift from rough country..... not pretty at all!

I know the longer springs will help but I ain't a fool. I have a nice comfy seat from a 97 chevy truck in there now.

Re: Shocks?

Bilstein 5100's or 7100's if you can afford them. Ride is great.

Re: Shocks?

i was going to put a 6" superlift on my 72' chevy i didn't see where rough country had anything bigger than a 4" for 67'-72'.

So yall are saying that i need to upgrade the shocks, for a better ride than what comes with the kit.
