Door advise:
I will be looking at a couple of 68 doors for my K5 this sat. Seller said they were really nice doors, my question is what are really good doors worth? He said he wants 300 for both. Know it is hard to say without looking but thought some advise would be helpful first.

Re: Door advise:

Re: Door advise:
If they are absolutely perfect... no rust, no dents, no filler, no holes, you really need them, etc., then yep, worth 300.00. If there are imperfections then base the price upon how much work you'll have to put into into them. I think I gave 2-250 for mine that were very nice except for a little filler, no rust, Texas doors. Its not hard to turn truck doors into blazer doors. good luck.

Re: Door advise:
There are better deals out there, that is unless they are in REALLY good shape like Big J said.

Re: Door advise:
Also 68 doors won't have the reinforcement hole for the wing windows. And they use the old arm style mirrors which mount closer the the front of the door.

Re: Door advise:
I'd say $100 a door max, but I live in AZ and have 6-8 doors collecting dust. Not braggin' just saying the price is dependant on location more than anything, in the western US rust free is fairly common so nice doors are pretty much the norm, but if you live in PA, NY, OH where they salt the roads, etc then rust free would be worth a lot more. Check them out and as everyone else has said, be sure to look them over with a magnifying glass if you decide to give $300 for them.

Re: Door advise:
I agree to a point, but I'm not in the rust belt and good doors are hard to find around here. Especially blazer doors. Every once in a while I'll run across some, but they are usually either in west Texas or somewhere out west, or on a truck that spent alot of time out west, and shipping a door is expensive. If they are rust free and fairly straight, even if they have several mirror holes, they are worth $300 to me. If they have any rust through at all, or are loaded with filler, then no, and you can adjust your price accordingly.

Re: Door advise:
Thanks guys, this was a St. louis built truck so lots of rust anyway, doors that came with truck were not original, one was a truck door cut down the other a 72 blazer door. These are the first doors I've come across that are supposed to be in good condition, I'll let you know

Re: Door advise:
Truck doors and Blazer doors are the same doors, the only difference is the latch plate reinforcement, but that can be swapped over. I never bother looking for good Blazer doors, since they were a fraction of the total units built than the trucks were, so truck doors are way more plentiful.

Re: Door advise:
After looking at doors in question I think I'll fix mine and save the 300 as mine were as good, will keep looking though. thanks for the tips.
