Going 1 ton with the Blazer

I'm so excited! My husband went to a Forestry Service auction today in hopes of getting an old 1.25 ton military truck for the drivetrain to go under my Blazer. Well he just called me & said we are now the proud owners of 5 of them! At least they're camoflaged & should be easy to hide behind the shop

Re: Going 1 ton with the Blazer

Very Nice!! We have about half dozen of them at my work. They have been worked nearly to death, but none of them have any front/rear differential or axle repair done, ever.

I'll just say that it couldn't be passed up. Some of them could probably be cranked with a battery & little tinkering. Some are dinged up pretty good & others are fairly straight. But the important part is that the drive train is under all of 'em!
One of them is actually a M1028A1 with the 400/205 combo & lockers already in front & rear...this one I'll be keeping. The others will be for sale whole or parted soon. But I'm not blue yet (check is going in the mail to Josh today -really!) so I don't won't to say more & get in trouble with the mods.

Our neighbors are gonna think we're crazy when they see 'em lined up. I thought they were all camo & would "blend" into the fence line, but a few have been on loan to volunteer fire depts & are bright red or blue

No actually it's a field maintenance truck 1031 (I was wrong about the 1028 disignation, this military realm is new to me). Put 2 batteries in it & it fired right up! Even the generator & air compressor (missing the welder) in the back work! These came with D60 front with limited slip, 400/205, 14 bolt with Detroit locker. It only has 15,000 miles. To bad we have no real use for it.
But we've pick 2 out to keep. 1 for my axels & parting & the other for a future project for my husband. Anyway here's some more pics, I know how evrybody like pics! http://community.webshots.com/user/randyw69

Re: Going 1 ton... 4 sale trucks

Okay, I'm now blue today so here goes.

So we have 3 we're trying to sell whole (instead of parting out like original thought would do).

Do have a turbo 400/ 208 transfer combo that's for sale too

Re: Going 1 ton with the Blazer

I think the best thing to do would be for you to put a for sale post in the Trucks For Sale section and then edit your above reply to put a link in it to the for sale post. That will follow the rules I believe and prevent confusion on whether it is okay to have for sale posts in this section.
