Does anyone have a 4 speed transmission cover that will fit a '47 body? I have the parking brake beside the shifter. Can't find a new part anywhere but need to figure out the cover since I am moving from a torque tube to the 4 on the floor tranny.

Thats a good question, right now mine is just fabed with a piece of steel it would be nice to know if we could get one, or maybe some pics of what they were originally covered with.

i have one off my 54 gmc. i think they are the same. it has a very small spot of rot on the one corner that can be fixed easy other than that is is very solid. $40.00 plus shipping. or you could go with a new fiberglass one lmc part # is38-2421 $79.95 harmons part# is t710050 $46.95 i'll get a pic onf the one i have for you tomorrow if you are intrested.

Thanks...the one I need has the hole beside the shifter hole for the emergency brake. I am traveling all week but will get back to the project next week to see if it is right everywhere else...if so then I can fab a new hole. Sorry to be a pest, but how much does the plate rise over the tranny?

they were all the same. you are correct that you will need to make a hole for the floor e-brake but thats what the factory did. so it will work if you get one from an aftemarket you will have to do the same thing and cut out a hole too.
