Serial number on the frame.....? Where
Got this new truck..now I'm gong over it and wanted to check the frame number against the cab. Where do I start scapeing..?

Driver side frame rail on top.... near the steering box.

Mine was right where the drivers door would have been on the driverside framerail on the top edge. I couldn't see it until i sandblasted the frame!

Generally it's found anywhere between the front drivers side frame horn and that first cab mount! Good luck -Brian

Thanks for all the help....let the wire brushing begin.
I am correct in thinking that the number on the frame should match my VIN number right..? I know that the GMC's don't have the number but Chevy's do..Is this correct.

Well I found my VIN number on the frame just where longhornmail said it was. (Actually about an inch in front of his finger). Thanks again for the help.
It did match my VIN plate so there was a big smile on my face. It's hard to track what is original and what's not without that option sticker on the glovebox. Plowing ahead with the rest of the research...

GMCs have the VIN there too, it was '67 trucks that didn't have it.
